Seat Allocation For Young Children ... |
| Check with the airline you are travelling with what their procedures are for parents (or guardians) travelling with small children or babies. As most airlines offer their limited bulkhead seats to families, located at the start of each cabin section, it's worth checking if you need to pre-book these seats, or if it is based on a first come, first served basis at check-in. If the latter you'll need to arrive at the airport in plenty of time. |

Arriving at the airport late will make you and your family stressed so make sure you leave time for any last minute nappy changes and little emergencies in your schedule. Bear the following in mind...
Don't get in a panic - it will rub off on the whole family and make everyone feel tense.
To make sure you get to the airport in good time check your route - especially if you haven't been to Stansted Airport before - taking into account any delays and road blocks. Check if there are any planned road works that could hold you up also.

You've got to the Airport in good time - now park your car in good time too - by pre-booking your airport parking when travelling with children to make things really easy!
For the ultimate in car parking ease book yourself a meet and greet parking service. You won't have to find the remote airport car park, you simply drive to the Airport Terminal.
You unload your luggage (and children!) right outside the Terminal, your car is collected by the meet ad greet parking Rep, and taken away to a secure car park for the duration of your trip. Leaving you and your family to move on to check-in quickly and easily. Most importantly, because you are driving straight up to the Terminal you don't have to add on another three-quarters of an hour for your transfer time. On your return your car will be ready and waiting for you right outside the Terminal - it really is that simple!
Check to see if the flight is full as empty seats make a great bed for children - if the flight is empty ask for a seat next to the empty ones.
As a family you are likely to be asked to board first, make sure you do as the cabin crew can give you their full attention.
So, be prepared, be organised, and with these top tips you and your family should avoid any nasty surprises! |

Buying Baby Foods, Milk & Water Overseas ... |
Fear not, any concerns you might have about travelling with babies and just how you'll find and purchase your baby's food, milk and nappies, will go once you've read this guide. What's more it also gives very important advice about safe bottled drinking water for children and babies.
It's a very good idea to include in your packing a small amount of baby food supplies in your luggage (or if you have large cases pack as much as you can!). Then, once you've arrived at your destination you can get settled without having to rushing off and find baby supplies.
Bottled Drinking Water
Bottled drinking water needs to be given to your baby that has less than 30 Na of sodium. Just look at the label on the bottle where it will be clearly displayed. Never give babies or toddlers water from the tap.
When you are making up your baby's formula milk use bottled water and boil it first, just as you would back in the UK.
Formula
Formula is sold in pharmacies. Be aware that you won't find your usual formula, Cow & Gate that's in the UK is branded as Almiron in Spain for instance. For more unofficial information about buying your particular brand of milk overseas you should call the telephone advice line on the pack of your milk packet.
Baby Food
.
Local supermarkets, although if you are somewhere remote then try a larger main supermarket, should all stock a good selection of baby foods and snacks. Hero and Hipp are both popular and easily found baby food brands.
Nappies
Main brands and local brands of nappies can be found in pharmacies and supermarkets. |
